DIY a dream catcher

Hey there!

I just finished my first piece of a dream catcher.
I always want a dream catcher for a very long time ago.
I even tried to purchase a ready made dream catcher before this but they're super expensive for a dream catcher so I just forget it.

I choose to DIY my own, the only, and the specially custom-made (of course)  DREAM CATCHER! Yeay!

Below is the tutorial on how I make my own custom-made dream catcher.

Materials:

• Hoop. I used the embroidery hoop that I got from DAISO. 15 cm in diameter
• A Doily. You can just buy a ready made doily or knit it yourself. I knit it myself :) it was about 5 '' size.
• Strings spool / yarn, yarn and yarn haha
• Paper rope/ ribbons
• Lace material, lace materials and lace materials or you can just use any fabris that you want
• Feathers
• Beads and small colourful bells
• Handicraft glue or to be easier a strong glue

Instructions:

1. Wrap around the entire hoop with a fabrics/ rope. I use  pink paper rope for mine.
2. Finish wrapping the hoop by securing the fabrics with a glue and trim the remaining fabrics/ rope.
3. Then, I use the doily that I knit before hand and using the yarn I weave the doily inside the hoop and add beads to it as I go on. Sorry I forgot to take picture for this. For the pattern of the doily I got it from Crafttown.com using pattern Snowflakes doily.

4. After that, using the string spool, ribbons, lace materials, the excess paper rope that I have, I hang it down from the bottom of the dream catcher. You just fold the fabrics/ string in half and then create a simple loop and pull the fabric through. Do as many as you want and pick your combination of string, lace, ribbons that YOUR HEART DESIRE!
5. To add on the embellishment, I take the beads and the small colourful bells and sew the thread in and secure with knots.
6. It's time to hang the feathers. For the feathers, begin to wrap the long length of thread around the feathers and tie it securely. You can add on embellishment on the feather by adding beads etc.

DONE!

This is how my dream catcher looks like. It was super easy and took a short time to be done.

My hostel room transformation

I've been living in hostel room like, roughly, 6 years. The first time that I live far from my family was when I was sixteen, I was sent to a boarding school for the first time in my life. Of course, it was hard at the first time but you just kinda get used to it and live on, though if you ask me I would say I love my home better. Home sweet home, right?

Okay, cut it short.
I actually wanted to share to you guys the transformation that I've done to my current hostel room in Lot 77, Kolej Kasturi. I always did a small transformation before this to my past room but so far this transformation was the biggest and the one that used up my money T.T

But it's okay.
In the end I like the transformation so so much. I feel like home here now.

Here's the before and after transformation.

Okay first we take a look at my study table.

This is my roommate's study table before. I forgot to take picture of mine. It's almost the same basic table so, I'll just use hers. Haha.

For the study table, what I do was just purchasing a :

•  60 meters length of 'very elegant' wallpaper from Kaison, 
• 3 cork board ( 2 of large size and 1 small size) for MR.DIY,
• Cute pink wooden letter from MR. DIY
• A lot of wooden label from MR.DIY
• Japanese lace from DAISO
• Heart shaped push pin from DAISO
• Cute note holder 'tree shaped' from MR.DIY
• An electrical aromatherapy light from LOVELY LACE

So, all I did was make use of the wallpaper and wrap the 'basic' study table that I've. The reason I use wallpaper rather than usual wrapper is that it water resistant so you don't have to buy plastic wrapper to double wrap it again. Then I use the extra wallpaper to make my notice board. The outline of the notice board I stick the Japanese lace that I got from DAISO and add on some motivational lettering on the notice board. I use two large cork boards for notes and reminder. As you can see below the cork boards I wrote the 'deadline' for reminder of any assignment deadline etc. I also had reminders for the upcoming exams. I use the smaller cork board as a timetable.

Now, the bed. As you can see the bed and the wall above the head board was so so so plain.

So,  I bought a new comforter set from Parkson, use the extra wall paper that I had to make a picture gallery above the head board. 

Can you see, the large clock above the head board and my picture gallery board? I purchase it from MR.DIY. It is very light weight. It is actually a sticker clock. Yes. The clock was functioning. Don't worry.

I want to change the curtain but it will be too much for me. LOL

The carpet was from my old room. I've purchase it long time ago.

Okay, considering the costs, I just use the old book shelves that I had since I was in Year 1 of medical school. I just stick a wallpaper above the selves to give it a new look.

Then I just put my knitting stuff and flowers, also my aromatherapy candle on it and done!

And I also add some motivational lettering above it. Stay bubbly!

Radiology posting, knitting and my bucket list!

Hey there!

After sudden end in last post, I come back.

I already finished one week of radiology posting and tomorrow gonna be a second week.

In radiology posting, we had only 2 week. Yes. 2 week to learn radiology through thick and thin.

We had to learn the modalities in radiology like; x-rays, ultrasound, CT scan, angiogram, fluoroscopy, angiography and MRI in this 2 week. But it is a 'chill' posting and the doctors teaching us was very fun *forgive me for my lack of vocabulary to explain how excellent they are. 

But I truly enjoy the learning.. Yeah at least I can grab what are they saying without the hassle to re-read back every time after class. I hasn't started my revision yet though exam is next week. But I believe I can to well(read: hope so!)

But, now I was not that into studying thus, the post. I spent this week doing something that I enjoy, that is, knitting...! yeah knit few things in this week. I knit a butterfly, a snowflakes, a 4 leaf- clover for my friends and a coaster. I also knit something that I want to put to the center of my soon to be made 'dream catchers' but because I don't have the things needed right now I'll have to postpone my project. Oh! I can't wait for my bulk of yarns arriving from guangzhou. I want to knit a blanket. Actually I want to knit a chunky blanket but don't know where to find a supreme, large, chunky yarns that they used and of course they are super expensive so, considering I'm so broke right now maybe I just knit a simple blanket. I hope that 20 skeins of yarns that I ordered would be enough for the project.

4 leaves clover. They believes that it brings luck and based on what I read each leaf mean; love, luck, faith and hope. I give to Joyah and Ravi. Actually I knit extra for someone that I like but I don't know how to give him.

This is my first snowflakes. I knit it because the aunties in the knitting group was so excited knitting this for upcoming Christmas. I just join them because I find it cute.

The butterfly! One skein of 20 g yarn was used for this. Actually I wanted to dye it to gives beautiful real shades to the flower but I don't know where to find fabric dyes, and of course I don't have time to look for it. So it opt out to knit it using a pink gradient cotton lace yarn to knit the flowers. But it turn out beautiful too right. Just say so.

This is a coaster I knit but I think I want to put it to the center of my dream catchers. Below I give you the pattern. I read the pattern wrongly at the end of the round so it's a bit different

They called this doily. I knit this also for the purpose of the dream catchers. It is quite big, about 14 cm diameter. Below is the pattern

This is the dream catcher that I plan on making. I want to do a Boho style dream catcher.

I think instagram, facebook and twitter platform was ruining my blog post. I mean I always update things there so when I want to update here. I lost the ideas.

Hmm..

Oh yeah currently I'm working on my bucket lists. I don't know if I can do all the things that I listed but I'll try my best. I want to start my bucket list as early as possibly but money, time and priorities.

I mean I need to focus my studies. I absolutely lacking in finance right now. It's sad. I'll have to wait when me. myself making money, only then I can do the high cost stuff that I dream off and of course I had time constraints right now. But I'll have to figure out it later. 

The important thing in my bucket list right now was to find a 'partner in crime' that would be pleased to join me in my adventure and all. Of course , doing all these things would be better if we had someone else joining us right. Some more, if I was going to travel, I don't think my parents would allow me to go alone and they would never want to join me also. I had so much to consider right now for my bucket list. Wish me for the the luck!

P/S: I know I promised many times already. But I'll update the CMPH posting. I will. I will. I will. Then I'll post some picture of my hostel room transformation okay! :)

District and family medicine posting

Today is the third day from the third week of my Family medicine posting.
Yes. Week three already.
I already finished my District posting in Serian Hospital for three weeks beforehand, currently I was in Family Medicine posting. Actually both of this posting was combined together so it was like 6 weeks? that I've been in current posting and I actually don't know what's going right now.
Honestly.
Our district posting was basically going to the hospital and clerk when we have to. Filling up logbooks of procedure need to be done etc in hospital setting. There's nothing much going on except the adrenaline rush that comes when 'malignant doctor' come for our BST or seminar presentation.
If I was being honest, my life as a medical student was dull. Haha
yeah dull
...
Some more in Serian Hospital, we don't have case as much as what we got in Sarawak General Hospital and usually it was just a common cases. So yeah~ that's it.

Yes.
I know I'm boring but there's actually nothing much to tell and considering it happen few weeks back so, I cannot retrace back what happen.
And if I got something interesting that I remember I cannot tell you guys though because of patient privacy even if nowadays patient themselves doesn't take care of their own privacy by posting everything that they think was something interesting to be posted on social media. Dengan kata lain, 'viral' kan semua benda. lol

I was in family medicine posting now. It has been interesting up until today when I was super tired from the clinic 'exploring'. I don't think it is interesting anymore lol. I'm joking.

Family medicine was really really really interesting because doctors get their seat and table not like in ward. Haha *Please pardon my boring humour

I like the clinic setting. It was so chill and relax 'as a medical student', not for the doctors of course. They had to serve like 600- 1k of patient each day depend on the where is the clinic they're working. Like OMG!
I cannot.
But whatever, that's what doctors have to do anyways.
Here, of course, rarely acute cases can be seen. What's common in Klinik kesihatan was things like Diabetes, Hypertension etc. and I was in Klinik Ibu dan Anak (MCHC), the case seen there would be normal antenatal check up, booking visits, cases like nenonatal jaundice, diabetes during pregnancy, hypertension during pregnancy and the list go on.

We also had GP(general practicioner posting), in Klinik Petra somewhere in Satok. Dr Azizah was very nice and we actually the difference between KK and GP clinic. The environment that was absolutely different. We actually learned few new things. I get to see IUCD insertion for the first time.

I'm sorry I got to go now. I think I had gastritis, I loss my appetite lately and have not eating well maybe because of the URTI that I got from patient in GP clinic

The fourth year.

Hi, there!
Haha we meet again and of course after a long time.
If I'm not mistaken the last time I wrote about my life was in January, that is, when I'm still in year three.
Guess what? I passed my year three and now it's the third week of year four.
I finished on short posting. Forensic posting, that I scared the most. Not the study that I scared, at least not as much as I am scared to the corpse. You might think it's funny for me to be in medical school when my body froze when I heard corpse or anything related to death.
I still remember the first time I saw corpse was when I was in Asasi. It is when they first introduce us to the faculty where I belong now. How terrified am I that time. But then I get over it, if not much at least I don't get chills when I heard the word 'corpse'.
But this time, it come again. Maybe now I was less scared to our anatomy corpse, though I still don't have the strength to touch them. Like ever!. However, for this forensic posting, we had to observe post mortem examination. I visited mortuary last time to see the deceased and of course I was scared. Moreover, the fact that this time they died tragically and we had to see decompose body ( I don't think I had to explain how decomposed body smell like).  I don't really see them.
But to think that later on, we must observe one post mortem examination and write a report on it. I have lost my word. Hmm...

Currently, I was in CMPH posting and please trust me I don't know what CMPH stand for. Haha.

Yass..! It's Community Medicine and Public Health posting. Actually it was clearly written on the guidebook which I don't bother read. Sorry for that!
CMPH posting was different from what my senior told me last time. They said it would be fun and you all will be playing the whole posting and they even suggested me to make it the last posting in year four but somehow things happen, so I end up having it as the first rotation.
But that's not the porblem here. The problem is when I first read the timetable, I was in shock. It was far from what they told us. T.T
It was really really packed. I repeat, really really packed. Where on earth the time to play? I can even find time to get extra sleep. Duhh...
and the worst is we have to do a research. Research!
I still remember the last time we do research was when were in year two. I don't know how to describe the situation but yeah.. research... Whatever it is I still to face it though. Redha je lah.
Oh! as the posting name itself describe, we will get involved with the community. Maybe I later on I can update you guys in that. But we will see. Haha.
From what the coordinator said, we will get involve with community in Rumah Panjang Philip Kayak (long house). So, just wait for the post about it later.

Wait! I forget to tell you now it is Ramadhan. Fasting month. The month where I was a lot braver, because the satan,  ghost and its family was tied. If it is not too late, I wish you Ramadhan Al-Mubarak. :) and early "Selamat Hari Raya!".

I don't know what else to write. I think that's it. Pray that my fourth year in medical school would be smooth and silky (Haha). Pray that I will pass all my posting for this year and graduated on time. My friends in other faculty has finished their final year project and final paper. Congratulation for them. First step of all, pergi beli no pin BSN * boleh rujuk poster di bawah.

Second, klik link  untuk ke web, Sistem Permohonan Kemasukan Pelajar Ke UA/ Politeknik, Kolej Komuniti dan ILKA

Third, follow panduan gambar di bawah. Sekali lagi diingatkan, ini adalah untuk pendaftaran kali pertama bagi lepasan SPM 2015 (Kategori A).

Bila klik link di atas korang akan dibawa ke muka laman web seperti gambar di atas.  Klik daftar kali pertama, pastikan anda sudah membeli no. unik ID BSN. Selepas itu download manual pengguna bagi pelajar lepasan SPM.

Seterusnya, anda harus memilih jenis permohonan. Terpulang pada pilihan anda. Dalam gambar, saya memilih untuk Kemasukan ke UA(Universiti Awam)/ Politeknik Premier.

Kemudian,  pilih program pengajian anda. Untuk tutorial ini, saya memilih Lepasan SPM dan setaraf.

Pilih kategori anda. SPM Kategori A untuk Lepasan SPM 2015 dan Kategori B untuk Lepasan SPM 2013 dan 2014.

Akhir sekali, anda akan dibawa ke muka ini. Isi kesemua maklumat yang diperlukan. dan klik daftar . SIAP!

 Jangan lupa untuk merekodkan password/ kata laluan anda ditempat yang selamat. Kalau ikut pengalaman saaya, saya buat satu buku khas untuk permohonan ke universiti. I'm 22 years old!

It has been a long time that I haven't written anything new on this blog of mine. Don't if it was because I'm busy or I just don't feel like writing or because of the lousy internet connection that I have. There's so much change this few months or maybe I can say year as we just started our 2016 few days ago and more than that I just had my birthday yesterday. Yeah, I'm 22 years old now... I don't how to comment this. It doesn't feel anything I just know that fact that I have move on to new age, an old age. Haha and that's it. But to be sure I'm now older and mature?

Oh yeah, I've started my year 3 few months back, it started quite bad but I don't know in what way it will bring me forwards. I just hope the best for myself and my friend. After completed the traumatic O&G posting and lovely but hanging Medicine posting, now, currently, I'm was in Paediatric posting. Yes. Paediatric posting. Stillat early phase so I couldn't comment much on it. I just start my first week though. But, it gives me chills when I have to communicate with all those small, small kids. All this while, I though that I'm quite good with the child because usually I got positive and cheerful response from the but when I first start this posting, I was shocked. The first day, I made child cried. Yes. Me, I was dumbfounded. I don't eve do anything, not even touching them. I just smiled and they cried. Goddddddddd! Felt stressed out when I thought of it back. Grrr!!!.Why? My nephews loves me. Love their Ummi, and even before this the child I communicate with likes me. Was it because, I'm wearing a white coats or because I don't bring toys like my other posting mates? It gives me a freak because previous rotation said that, " You shouldn't make a child cry or else fail lah".*in Dr. Chai's voice. Haha, because I miss my medicine posting so much. So, back to the story. Then what it makes me, I made a child cried on my first day, my first and 7th attempt on that day. Argghhhh.... child are really hard to deal with. Real hard. I'm a little bit phobia right now. I even afraid to approach parents to do the history taking. Duhh. So, my first week just ends without any gain. Tomorrow, new week will be started. I MUST do the history taking, no matter how scared I'm... T.T

What else huh? I sure have lot to say but it cannot be retrieved right now. Oh! Did I tell you that I already move to Sibu and was allocated to confined room, with bad air circulation and without sunlight exposure, Total darkness. Seriously, but I'll have to adapt it for these 6 months onward. I should stop now, my roommates come back already. Haha.
